Counseling Center Interns/Trainees
Terri Smith
Terri is due to graduate in May 2010 with a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary's College in Moraga, CA. Previously, Terri received her undergraduate degree in 2001 from Notre Dame de Namur (NDNU) in Belmont, CA, majoring in liberal studies. She received her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from NDNU in 2002 and worked as an educator for eight years. While Terri has enjoyed teaching, she has found that her true calling is working with parents and students on a more intimate level, assisting families in the areas of academia, family dynamics and parenting of adolescents.
As a trainee at Advent Group Ministries, Terri has had the opportunity to to work with individuals, couples, adolescents and families. She has experience working with clients on issues of depression, anxiety, substance abuse, schizophrenia, post traumatic stress disorder, divorce, and family conflict resolution.
